In line with my theme of Community Immunity I am sharing each day for seven days, Don Tolman’s 7 Principle’s of Health. According to Tolman Self Care embracing mother nature’s gifts is the ultimate secret to your lasting health and vitality.
Life is movement. And the number one type of movement that supports your health is the one that we’re all designed to do, which is walk.
Studies have shown that if you’ll walk for 45 minutes to 1 hour every single day, on average, you’ll add up to 18 years to your life!
The key is to walk outside in the open air – walking inside on a treadmill is not a substitute!
When you walk outside and move your body through time and space, your senses are involved and you’re activating emotional molecules in your brain that impact the health of your entire body.
Walk early in the day if you can because it stimulates the peristaltic action of your intestines at the time of day when you’re designed to eliminate digestive waste. Take a bottle of water with you and smile!
And if you like to do other exercises and activities like yoga, swimming, circuit training or cycling, that’s great. Just be sure to also make walking a part of your daily routine!
